West Midlands
Head Veterinary Nurse
Permanent

Surgery Information / Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team on a full time, permanent basis as Head Nurse.

We are a 4 vet practice with a 5th vet due to start with us this year and they are supported by 2 RVN's, 2SVN's, 1 Nursing Assistant and 4 Client Care Advisors with the nursing team being expanded. We are a dynamic practice with medicine and surgery certificate holders amongst our vets and so we aim to offer a very high standard of care for our patients across a wide range of cases. We have all the facilities to support this with laparoscopic surgery, endoscopy, high quality ultrasound, dental x-ray, ECG, doppler ultrasound, capnography and pulse oximetry. We perform a full range of orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries including TPLO’s and BOAS surgeries. We also have a high rabbit caseload compared to many practices.

Our nursing team are all involved in these cases and so there are significant opportunities to scrub into theatre, do complex anaesthetics and help with medical investigations and inpatient care. We are also happy to support all staff members with opportunities for further development and a certificate, or an interest in doing one, would be an advantage. We are hoping to expand and there is a possibility of hydrotherapy and physiotherapy in the future.
