You will be working from a well-equipped surgery that is purpose built and has the usual equipment as well as a full range of scopes, ultrasound, and Covidian force triad. We have a mixed and extensive small animal case load and a loyal client base. We are based on the St James Retail Park, an easy walk from the train station or nearest bus stop, and close to the M11 J7. Stanstead airport is just 20 minutes away.
The team is made up of 5 vets, 9 Nurses, 1 VCA and 2 Receptionists and are led by partners Garrick and Ruth. Garrick graduated from the University of Pretoria in 2005 and became a partner in the Harlow practice in June 2011. He prefers the medicine side of veterinary work over surgical procedures and has achieved his GPCert in Small Animal Medicine, GPCert in Endoscopy, and his PgCert in Small Animal Medicine, and is now pursuing a GPCert in Cardiology to expand his knowledge. He is particularly successful in helping clients to maintain the quality of their pet's life during terminal illness. Ruth qualified as a nurse in 1987 and has been with the practice since 2007 after a varied career. She is passionate about providing a great client service and in trying to help the team create a positive workplace.
These roles are full time and will include 1 in 3 weekends. There is no on-call. The rota includes provision for occasional overnight patient care and your own transport is essential. Additional training and guidance will be provided to SVNs.
