The section of Diagnostic Imaging at Dick White Referrals (DWR), Veterinary Specialist Centre, Newmarket, Cambridgeshire, UK, is seeking to employ a full-time Radiographer with a desire to work offering a high level of medical care to dogs and cats. We would also consider a part-time appointment of a minimum of 3 days a week. 

The position offers a Radiographer the opportunity for involvement in all types of Diagnostic Imaging of cats and dogs, a realistic caseload and a genuine involvement in each case and its outcome.

Team and facilities: 

The Diagnostic Imaging section consists of 8 board-certified Veterinary Radiologists, 4 Residents, 2 Interns, 3 Radiographers and 2 Assistants. On-site imaging facilities include radiography (DR), fluoroscopy, 2 ultrasound suites, 0.4T MRI, and 16-slice MDCT. The last two are to be upgraded in the coming year by 1.5T MRI and 64-slice MDCT.

Dick White Referrals is world renowned and one of Europe’s largest private veterinary hospitals, working at the forefront of veterinary medicine and surgery. It has an excellent and varied caseload supported by rotating interns, residents, certified veterinary nurses, and 47 veterinary specialists including the following specialties: anatomical pathology, anaesthesia, cardiology, clinical pathology, emergency and critical care, dermatology, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopaedic surgery, and soft tissue surgery.

 

Person Specification

Veterinary Nurse qualification OR Radiographer with full HCPC registration. 

Experience in supervision of Junior Radiographers, and the ambition to become a Lead Radiographer will be viewed positively, however is not essential.

Training in small animal positioning and examination techniques will be provided.
